WHERE: Auditions are at:
Memorial United Methodist Church, 2701 Poplar.
Enter the southwest door (the one without the awning).
WHY: Being in a production helps youth develop their skills in communication, gain poise on stage, and
create
new friendships. Being a part of Oliver will give youth an understanding of the world Dickens lived and a knowledge of his classical tale. Additionally, by being in a musical, youth will enhance their singing and dancing skills.
HOW:
Register
--Come at the time registered
and b
ring the completed audition form. (We will have a few forms available at the audition if you do not have access to a printer.) Parents are asked to pick their child up at the end of the audition and not remain in the building so we may avoid crowding.
ACT--At the audition, youth will be assigned a scene to read from one of the following. The casting committee will pick the scene, so it is best to read through all of the scenes.
SING--All are asked to sing a song of their choice. It can be as simple as Jingle Bells or Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. The committee may ask the youth to stop once they get a sense of their singing ability. A piano is available if they have sheet music and would like our music director Dan Rodriguez to play for them.
DANCE-- Wear comfortable clothes for dancing and possibly gymnastics. Here are
choreographer Brandon Halleck's practic
e dance steps.

If cast in the show, we will have a call back on Sunday, January, 22. A parent or guardian will be required to be at this meeting as we will hand out vital information, have the guardian sign the waiver, and collect the $100 participation fee. A few need-based scholarships are available, so if assistance is needed, please speak to a Children's Theatre representative.
Street Closure:
It has been brought to our attention that the intersection of Poplar Street and 25th Street will be closed for utility repairs (water) starting at 9am Friday, January 20 until 5pm Tuesday, January 24. Please take this under advisement when coming to auditions.
